Japandi Neo-Alpine
The Challenge
Most of the property was renovated just a few years ago. Now, the kitchen was also due for a gentle update.
The challenge was to keep the existing spotlights in place and integrate the new kitchen so that the existing connections could continue to be used – partly to avoid excessive costs.

After: A lovely complement to the round table: the rounded, upholstered dining chairs.
The Idea
We drew inspiration from two styles: Japanese design and the classic American Shaker style. The result is a modern yet traditional blend that we feel fits brilliantly into an alpine setting. This "Japandi Neo-Alpine style" really shines in the kitchen.

The Execution
The hallway cabinets are made of simple, white synthetic resin. To give these older units a fresh new look, we added real oak handles that bring warmth and a sense of high quality.
To make better use of the space at the end of the large cabinet run, we built a mini oak wall unit for books, complete with a fold-down desk for quick tasks. In everyday use, it mostly serves as a charging station for iPads and similar devices.

Everything is kept in warm gray tones, with oak being the only source of color in the living space.
We enhanced the base of the round dining table with a relief pattern. Combined with the floral pendant light floating above it, this creates an elegant focal point.
